Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) and Abu Dhabi Farmers Services Centre (ADFSC) as beneficiary partners in collaboration with ICARDA are working on Date Palm Integrated Pest Management and Agricultural Extension and Technology Transfer Systems in Abu Dhabi. Project components include Research for development activities on date palm IPM, enhancement of technology transfer and agricultural extension systems, capacity building, biological control in greenhouses and socio-economic analysis.

An Assessment of the Economics of Land Degradation for Improved Land Management in Central Asia

Its major focus is to scale out proven improved malt barley and faba bean varieties and integrated crop management practices which will result in increased production and productivity in both rainfed and irrigated production systems. In this process, it will popularize improved malt barley and faba bean varieties and associated agronomic practices coupled with accelerated seed multiplication.

Jalalpur Irrigation Project, Pakistan. Project Preparatory Technical Assistance

The project will construct over 100 km of main canal and around 200 km of distributary and minor canals and appurtenant structures. The main canal will have a design discharge of about 38 cubic meters per second (cms) at Rasul Barrage. Provision for the canal Headworks already exists at existing Rasul Barrage on River Jhelum. However, its design and costing will be required. The project will provide irrigation supplies to about 79,950 ha in Pind Daden Khan and Khushab districts out of which around 15,000 ha will require lift irrigation from the River Jhelum with possibility of using solar energy pumps. The non-perennial irrigation system - water supply for only Kharif season crops from April to September, will directly benefit to about 500,000 rural population. The project will also include summer crop (Rabi crop) using groundwater.
